The more lightweight the frame the easier they are to transport, however this makes them more limited to the amount of weight they can carry and distance they can cover between charging.
Most of our small mobility scooters are able to be dismantled into a few parts or folded easily to fit in a car boot, if you have a small scooter in mind, you will need to be sure that you or your carer are able to physically lift and fit these parts into the boot of a car easily.

The class 2 medium mobility scooters that we have for sale or hire do not need to be registered with the DVLA and are generally smaller, lighter and less powerful than the class 3 medium mobility scooters that we have to offer.
As well as class 2 scooters we also offer a range of class 3 medium mobility scooters to our customers throughout Surrey. These mobility scooters are not intended for indoor use but can be used on pavements, roads and rough surfaces such as park trails. This higher class of mobility scooter has the longest distance range between charges and additional safety features for road use. The top allowable speed for pavements is 4mph and they have a road speed of 8mph. If the user intends to ride their scooter on the road it must be registered with the DVLA – this can be done by the owner or arranged by the dealer.
Large Mobility Scooters
All of the large mobility scooters we offer are classified by the DVLA as ‘class 3 invalid carriages’ so must have road tax and be registered with the DVLA. Road tax is provided free of charge and registration can be arranged by the owner or the dealer.
